Job summary

Kiniths House Limited is a small, friendly residential care home in the United Kingdom, recruiting for a Night Shift Leader or Night Care Assistant to join our dedicated night team. You will help ensure residents remain safe, comfortable and well cared for during the night with person-centred care.

Responsibilities include welfare and safety checks, personal care, medication administration where trained, accurate documentation and clear handovers to the day team.

Qualifications

• Reliable with excellent attendance.
• Able to work independently during night shifts.
• Calm under pressure and able to use initiative.
• A good communicator with strong teamwork skills.
• Committed to delivering outstanding care.
• Good written and verbal English.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Willingness to undertake training.
• Previous experience in adult social care.
• Experience supporting people with learning disabilities.
• Medication training.
• Leadership or senior care experience (for Night Shift Leader applicants).

Responsibilities

• Providing high-quality, person-centred care and support.
• Supporting residents with personal care where required.
• Completing regular welfare and safety checks.
• Administering medication (where trained and competent).
• Maintaining accurate care records and documentation.
• Responding appropriately to emergencies and incidents.
• Promoting independence, choice and dignity.
• Carrying out light domestic duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
• Working closely with colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
• Leading the night team during each shift.
• Supporting and supervising other staff members.
• Making appropriate decisions in the absence of senior management.
• Ensuring policies, procedures and regulatory standards are followed.
• Providing clear handovers to the day team.
