Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Overnight Baker to be a key ingredient in the success of our new brand, FOCACCIA MIA. As an Overnight Baker, you will be instrumental in producing high-quality focaccia bread that forms the foundation of our sandwiches, ensuring freshness and availability for our customers each morning. You will work independently and as part of a team, following recipes, operating bakery equipment, and maintaining a clean work environment. Your passion for baking and commitment to quality will be essential in delivering exceptional focaccia that sets FOCACCIA MIA apart.

Responsibilities:

  1. Prepare high-quality focaccia bread according to our recipes and standards.
  2. Measure and mix ingredients accurately, ensuring proper hydration, fermentation, and techniques.
  3. Operate and maintain bakery equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, ovens, and proofers.
  4. Monitor baking to achieve desired color, crust, and crumb structure.
  5. Ensure proper cooling and storage of baked focaccia.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the work area.
  7. Assist with inventory management, monitoring ingredient levels and notifying supervisors of shortages.
  8. Collaborate with the team to ensure smooth workflow between focaccia production and sandwich assembly.
  9. Follow all company policies and procedures.
  10. Perform other duties as needed to support FOCACCIA MIA's launch and operations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven bakery experience, especially in bread baking and dough handling.
  • Ability to follow recipes accurately.
  • Proficiency with bakery equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Attention to detail and passion for quality.
  • Ability to work independently and in a team.
  • Reliable and able to work overnight hours.
  • Physical ability to lift up to [Insert Weight, e.g., 50] pounds and stand for long periods.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation.
  • Availability on weekdays and weekends; immediate availability is preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience specifically with focaccia bread.
  • Culinary or baking certification.
  • Familiarity with inventory management systems.
  • Food Handler certification.

Languages: English – Advanced

Employment: Full-time

Schedule: Wednesday - Sunday 9pm-6am

Salary: £14 – £15 hourly
