Job summary

The Overhead Lines Instructor role in Manchester offers an opportunity to move from field work to training, mentoring and developing the next generation of electrical engineers. Full training will be provided, with a salary bracket of £55,000 - £65,000 plus excellent pension and private healthcare.

We are seeking an experienced Overhead Linesperson with distribution network experience on wooden poles and authorisations for overhead work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electricity distribution or related field.
• Experience with overhead line work and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Deliver practical and theoretical training on electricity distribution and transmission systems.
• Assess learner competence against national occupational and qualification standards.
• Deliver overhead line construction and maintenance modules (distribution focus).
• Support technical certificate delivery in Power Engineering.
• Deliver compliance and safety‑related training aligned to real‑world distribution activities.
• Help shape and continuously improve training programmes using modern facilities and equipment.
