Job summary

Taylor Hopkinson is seeking an Overhead Line Project Engineer for a major offshore wind farm in the UK. You will provide engineering support across 400kV, 275kV and 132kV projects throughout the life cycle.

Responsibilities include reviewing proposals for compliance, acting as the overhead line lead in meetings, and promoting CDM-based safety and regulatory adherence while coordinating with multiple disciplines and project teams.

Overhead Line Project Engineer for a major offshore wind farm in The UK

Responsibilities

Provide overhead line engineering support for 400kV, 275kV and 132kV projects across the full project life cycle, working as part of a multidiscipline project engineering team. Review contractor/consultant design proposals, ensuring compliance with relevant design specification and guidance. Take on a Project Engineering role, ensuring engineering governance is followed, co-ordination with all Engineering Disciplines and support/assist others in the project team around managing engineering risks and utilising opportunities for the project to excel. Act as the point of contact for overhead line engineering and represent engineering at key strategic, commercial, programme and site project meetings. Promote and manage safety within the assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and practices, ensuring the project engineering is compliant with company, HSE and industry regulations. Work closely with Engineering Managers and Project Managers to ensure that Engineering and Quality risks are identified and mitigated.

Requirements

Strong technical skills in overhead line development, design, and specification-or demonstrable transferable experience. Familiarity with overhead line design software (e.g. PLS-CADD) is advantageous but not essential. A technical degree or HND, with relevant experience in the field. A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to explore design options and apply evidence-based decision-making.
