Job summary

OCU is seeking an experienced OHL Supervisor to provide frontline leadership across site operations and ensure safe, efficient delivery of major power infrastructure projects in the UK.

The role focuses on mentoring delivery teams, maintaining high standards of workmanship, and coordinating outages, earthing, and network requirements on busy sites. Regular travel and site-based work are expected.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising overhead line construction or electrical distribution activities in utilities/power sector.
• Strong knowledge of safe systems of work, risk assessments and site safety requirements.
• Proven ability to lead field-based teams and coordinate multiple work activities.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate day-to-day overhead line construction activities on site.
• Brief teams on planned works and ensure activities are carried out safely per procedures.
• Monitor site performance to meet quality, programme and safety standards.
• Ensure teams have PPE, plant, tools and equipment to work safely.
• Liaise with Senior Authorised Persons and stakeholders to coordinate outages, earthing and network needs.
• Conduct regular site inspections, audits and safety observations to maintain compliance and drive improvement.
• Review project documentation, risk assessments and records for accuracy and compliance.
• Coach and mentor operational teams to promote best practice and high workmanship standards.
• Identify site issues and implement solutions to minimise disruption and keep progress.
