Job summary

Towne Lifting is seeking an experienced Overhead Crane Engineer to join our Newcastle team. You will work across Newcastle and the wider North East, maintaining and repairing cranes and hoists, and supporting Crane of the Future technology for blue‑chip clients.

The role requires strong fault-finding skills, an electrical engineering qualification, and a full UK driving licence. Opportunities to travel across the UK and Europe are available as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Overhead crane experience and hands-on electrical/mechanical fault-finding ability.
• Clear communication skills and professional client-facing manner.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel as required.

Responsibilities

• Inspecting, servicing and maintaining overhead cranes, hoists and jib cranes.
• Diagnosing and repairing electrical and mechanical breakdowns.
• Installing and supporting Crane of the Future technology.
• Explaining completed work and technical recommendations to customers.
• Identifying repairs, replacement parts and further work.
• Training can be provided in specialist areas when necessary.
