Job summary

Marchant Recruitment is seeking an experienced School Caretaker for an outstanding school in St Albans, Hertfordshire. You will help maintain a safe, secure and well-presented environment and work closely with school leadership, staff, contractors and visitors.

Key duties include opening and securing buildings and grounds, daily site inspections, general maintenance and minor repairs, basic plumbing or carpentry, monitoring heating, lighting and safety systems, and supporting health and safety

Qualifications

• Previous experience working as a Caretaker, Premises Assistant or Site professional within a school is essential.
• Strong practical maintenance and DIY skills.
• Previous experience working in an educational environment.
• Good understanding of school health and safety procedures.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative.
• Reliable, organised and proactive approach.
• Good communication skills.
• Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities
