Job summary

Accountable Recruitment in Liverpool seeks an Outsourcing Supervisor to join a well-established North West practice. You'll review bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts prepared by junior staff, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.

You'll mentor junior team members, support month-end reporting, and liaise with clients to resolve queries while driving process improvements with cloud accounting tools.

Qualifications

• Previous experience within an accountancy practice, outsourced finance team or similar accounting environment.
• Strong bookkeeping and management accounts experience.
• Good working knowledge of VAT and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Experience reviewing work prepared by junior members of a team would be highly beneficial.
• Comfortable communicating directly with clients and resolving day-to-day accounting queries.
• Good knowledge of cloud accounting software and an interest in using technology to improve accounting processes.
• Strong attention to detail with the confidence to identify errors, investigate discrepancies and suggest solutions.
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
• Previous experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues would be advantageous.
• AAT qualified, ACA/ACCA part-qualified or qualified by experience candidates will be considered.
• An interest in developing further into client management, advisory and team leadership.

Are you an experienced practice accountant looking to move beyond traditional accounts preparation and take on more responsibility for reviewing work, supporting clients and developing junior team members?

A well-established and highly respected North West accountancy practice is looking to appoint an Outsourcing Supervisor to join its growing Liverpool team.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong bookkeeping and management accounts experience who is ready to step into a more senior position.

Outsourcing Supervisor Responsibilities:

• Reviewing and approving bookkeeping, VAT returns and management accounts prepared by junior members of the team.
• Ensuring client work is accurate, completed efficiently and delivered in line with agreed deadlines.
• Supporting month-end reporting and ensuring financial information is complete and accurate.
• Liaising directly with clients to resolve accounting queries and obtain information required to complete work.
• Communicating with external providers and suppliers where required to resolve outstanding issues.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting and cost control activities across outsourced client assignments.
• Monitoring workflow and team performance, helping to ensure workloads are managed effectively.
• Supporting the training and development of junior team members, providing guidance and feedback on their work.
• Preparing KPI and performance reports and escalating issues to senior members of the team where appropriate.
• Identifying opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls and reporting.
• Supporting the implementation of process improvements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy.
• Assisting with the onboarding of new clients, including setting up accounting systems, processes and reporting requirements.
• Supporting accounting system implementation and optimisation.
• Assisting Managers with ad hoc advisory projects and wider client requirements.

Outsourcing Supervisor Attributes:
