Job summary

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is recruiting an Outreach Worker to join a Housing Association in Stoke-on-Trent on an initial 9-month contract.

You will engage with homeless individuals, build trusting relationships, conduct outreach visits, and help clients access temporary or permanent housing, benefits and services. The role is site-based with Monday–Friday hours.

Qualifications

• Previous outreach experience with homelessness services or housing support is essential.
• Strong communication and active listening skills are required.
• Ability to work in challenging environments with compassion and resilience.

We're looking for an experienced Outreach Worker to join a Housing Association on an initial 9-month contract, with potential opportunities for extension or temp-to-perm.

1 x Outreach Worker

Responsibilities include:

• Engaging with individuals who are homeless, rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness.
• Building trusting relationships with vulnerable individuals and helping them access appropriate services.
• Carrying out outreach visits and welfare checks within the community.
• Supporting individuals to access temporary accommodation and move towards permanent housing.
• Identifying complex needs, including mental health challenges, substance misuse and social isolation.

Essential experience: Previous experience in outreach, homelessness services, housing support or working with vulnerable individuals is essential. We're looking for someone resilient, compassionate and confident working in challenging environments, with excellent communication skills and a genuine commitment to helping people make positive changes.

Location & Contract Details

• Location: Stoke-on-Trent
• Contract: Initial 9 months, with potential extension or temp-to-perm opportunities
• Working pattern: Monday-Friday, 5 days per week
• Workplace: Fully site-based
