Dudley I Can Programme:

Full time - 37 hours

Fixed term till March 2026

Hybrid - Office base St. James Road, Dudley and Russell's Hall Hospital and Adult Community Learning Centre (Brierley Hill).

The “I Can Dudley” programme is a cross-organisational initiative, externally funded until March 2026. Dudley Council has joined forces with Dudley Foundation Trust, the two biggest employers in the borough, to improve access to our jobs for local people. As an Information, advice and guidance specialist, you will play a pivotal role in this initiative, providing essential information, advice, and guidance to support local residents in finding employment. Your efforts will help bridge the gap between job seekers and employment opportunities, fostering a more inclusive and accessible job market within Dudley Borough.

We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Outreach Worker to join our team on the I Can programme. This position involves working across two of the largest anchor organisations in Dudley Borough – Dudley MBC and Dudley NHS Trust. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in providing information, advice, and guidance to support local people into local employment and sit across these two organisations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert information, advice, and guidance to help local residents find employment.
  • Engage with local partners to increase employment opportunities for the community.
  • Work collaboratively with Dudley Council and Dudley NHS Trust to support the I Can programme.
  • Utilise knowledge of Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) to promote inclusive recruitment techniques which align and work with EDI leads across Dudley MBC and Dudley NHS Trust.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the programme and its participants.
  • Support the retention and progression of I Can Dudley participants.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in outreach work, preferably within employment support or a similar field.
  • Strong knowledge of local employment opportunities and the ability to connect individuals with suitable roles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with partners and the community.
  • Understanding of EDI principles and experience in implementing inclusive recruitment practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
