Job summary

Remedy Education seeks experienced SEN tutors to provide personalised, one-to-one outreach tuition to secondary learners in Wiltshire. Typical referrals involve 10-15 hours of tuition per student per week, usually during school hours, with flexibility as needed.

You will deliver Maths and English tuition, support learners with various SEND needs, and help them re-engage with learning while building confidence and progress towards GCSEs.

Qualifications

• Strong experience teaching Maths and English in secondary settings.
• Experience supporting Year 7 to GCSE learners.
• Experience with SEN/SEND; minimum two years preferred.
• Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service or willing to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, one-to-one outreach tuition to secondary learners from Year 7 to GCSE.
• Teach Maths and English confidently across the secondary age range.
• Assess learning needs and identify gaps in knowledge.
• Plan and deliver structured, personalised learning programmes.
• Adapt teaching methods for different SEND profiles and learning styles.
• Support learners toward EHCP targets and curriculum objectives.
• Help students prepare for GCSEs and related examinations where appropriate.
• Build trusting relationships with learners facing barriers to education.
• Monitor progress and maintain accurate records of engagement and achievement.
• Provide updates to parents, carers, schools and relevant professionals.
• Collaborate with families and other professionals involved in the learner's education.
