Job summary

Thames Reach Charity is seeking a Support Worker for the East Surrey Outreach Team in Redhill on a fixed-term contract to August 2027. The role focuses on outreach, engagement with rough sleepers, and helping clients access housing, health services and specialist support.

You will travel across East Surrey, often with a vehicle, and log activities in INFORM. Thames Reach works to end homelessness and has a strong track record, including top workplace recognition.

Qualifications

• Experience with homelessness and outreach settings.
• Ability to build effective multi-agency relationships.
• Excellent organisational skills; manage caseloads and maintain records.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team, including lone working during outreach.
• Strong written and verbal communication with clients and partners.
• Full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work.

Responsibilities

• Conduct assertive outreach and engagement with rough sleepers and vulnerable individuals across East Surrey.
• Facilitate housing pathways by working with local authorities and supporting clients through resettlement and tenancy sustainment.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to coordinate client support.
• Manage referrals, log all cases promptly, and monitor the duty inbox.
• Participate in outreach shifts, including early mornings and out-of-hours, recording activities in INFORM.
• Travel across East Surrey to attend shifts, meetings and client visits.
