About the Role:

Grade Level (for internal use): 10

The Team: The Private Markets outreach team supports the outreach needs of the content organization to access unique and exclusive data directly from the source. We establish relationships with third parties to provide comprehensive data to S&P Global Market Intelligence clients, offering expertise in datasets, assisting with client requests, and supporting Product and Commercial teams.

The Impact: The Private Equity Outreach Specialist will work with the Market Intelligence dataset teams to contact firms and gather critical information for research, content, and analytics on private capital markets, including private equity, venture capital, and alternative asset classes. The role involves building relationships with external data providers, ensuring strong partnerships, and requires excellent communication, project management, data analytics, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and manage market engagement and communication for Private Markets data.
  2. Develop and maintain relationships with institutions and authorities to receive Private Markets data.
  3. Engage with third-party institutions via email, website, or phone to explain our needs and receive data.
  4. Collaborate with senior management to align goals with partner relationships.
  5. Identify and create new opportunities through networking.
  6. Develop outreach strategies and execute initiatives to increase market acceptance.
  7. Create outreach materials such as presentations and newsletters.
  8. Monitor and report on outreach effectiveness.
  9. Build and maintain trust with private markets participants, attend industry events, source data, and manage relationships.
  10. Gather comprehensive information on data tracked by the department.
  11. Assist in resolving client questions and verifying information, including audits of datasets.
  12. Stay updated on content sets and industry trends.
  13. Support business-as-usual activities and client requests across datasets.

What We’re Looking For:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of Private Markets and ability to quantify industry trends.
  • 5+ years of experience in outreach and partnerships.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills.
  • Strong writing and editing abilities.
  • Preferably, deep experience with Private Markets participants.
  • Networking skills, interpersonal skills, and understanding of regulatory environments.
  • Effective multi-stakeholder management and project management skills.
  • Ability to work proactively with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
