The Forward Trust is seeking an Outreach Recovery Worker in Southend-on-Sea to engage with rough sleepers and those with complex needs. The role requires compassionate, proactive outreach across locations and unsociable hours.
You will build trusting relationships, assist access to accommodation, healthcare, and mental health or substance misuse services, keep accurate records and contribute to multi-agency planning.
Location: Southend on Sea
Salary: £26,000 - £28,000 per annum (DOE)
We are looking for a compassionate, resilient and proactive Outreach Worker to engage with people who are rough sleeping or begging, including those who may be reluctant to engage with services or have multiple and complex needs.
You will provide assertive and flexible street outreach, building trusting relationships and supporting individuals to access accommodation, healthcare, mental health and substance misuse services. Working collaboratively with statutory and voluntary partners, you will help people identify their strengths, make positive and sustainable changes, and move towards safer and more settled lifestyles.
The role involves working across a range of locations and times, including some unsociable hours and in challenging weather conditions. You will maintain accurate records, contribute to multi-agency meetings and case planning, and ensure individuals receive coordinated support tailored to their needs.
