Citizens Advice Telford and The Wrekin is looking for a Financial Resilience Outreach Officer to help local residents improve their financial resilience, access support and build confidence in managing their finances.

This is a practical, community-focused role working with residents across Telford and The Wrekin. You will provide information, signposting and support to people who may be struggling with low income, debt concerns, budgeting challenges or accessing the help available to them. You will work in community venues across the borough, helping people access support before issues escalates.

The role involves delivering outreach sessions, engaging with local communities and partner organisations, registering clients, maintaining accurate records and promoting the service. You will be an important link between local residents and the wider support available through Citizens Advice and partner organisations.

About you

We're looking for someone with excellent communication and IT skills, strong organisational skills and a positive, non-judgemental approach. You will be confident working with a wide range of people, able to build relationships within local communities and committed to supporting residents to access the help they need.

Experience in a customer-facing, community engagement, support, advice or outreach role would be beneficial. Knowledge of financial resilience, budgeting, income maximisation, debt issues or financial capability work would be an advantage, although full training and support will be provided. We will also consider trainee applicants with the right values, skills and commitment to the role.

The successful candidate may be required to complete a DBS check in line with Citizens Advice policy. A criminal record will not necessarily prevent appointment.
