Job summary

The Really NEET Project in Telford is seeking an Outreach Mentor who will deliver one-to-one and small-group mentoring in the community or at learners' homes, helping them progress into education or employment.

You will follow a pre-agreed curriculum including Functional Skills Maths & English, Art, Change Workshops, and Careers sessions, while upholding safeguarding and creating a safe, inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one and small-group mentoring sessions often in the community or in the young persons home.
• Help young people manage challenges and develop positive behaviours.
• Support young people with their wellbeing.
• Deliver a pre-agreed curriculum, including Functional Skills Maths & English, Art, Change Workshops, and Careers sessions. Work with young people from Pre-Entry Level to Level 2.
• Create high-quality teaching materials and schemes of work that motivate and challenge each young person. Provide clear marking, feedback, and guidance.
• Follow safeguarding, lone working and child protection procedures.
• Input accurate information on internal systems such as CPOMS.
• Provide a safe and inclusive learning environment, de-escalate challenging situations, and promote positive behaviour.

Type of Employment: Full-time

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

Days of Work: Monday Friday

Pay Level: £27,432 per annum

We are looking for a passionate Outreach Mentor who is ready to inspire, motivate and empower young people to overcome barriers and succeed.

This is not a typical mentoring role. You will become a trusted mentor, role model, advocate and guide, helping young people develop the skills, resilience, and confidence they need to progress into education, employment, and independence.
