Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking an Outreach Worker / Unqualified Teacher for an Alternative Provision in Colne, East Lancashire. You will work with 11-16+ learners outside mainstream classroom settings, focusing on relationship-based re-engagement and functional learning tailored to each student.

You'll deliver 1:1 and small-group sessions, plan core subjects and life skills, and track progress while collaborating with families, schools and social care.

Qualifications

• Background working with children or young people with SEMH or complex needs.
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, structured learning sessions without QTS.
• Patient, emotionally intelligent, and able to build trust with young people.

Responsibilities

• 1:1 & small-group engagement delivering sessions in community venues or outreach hubs to re-engage learners.
• Deliver functional skills English & Maths, personal development and life skills.
• Use trauma-informed techniques to support students through dysregulation and build resilience.
• Collaborate with parents/carers, partner schools, social care to provide wraparound support.
• Monitor attendance, engagement, wellbeing, and progress, with regular feedback.
