An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the patient-focused team at the Outpatients Department, Royal Glamorgan Hospital, Dewi Sant Hospital, and potentially Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda.
Main Outpatients facilitates a wide range of consultant-led, nurse-led clinics, and visiting specialties.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in outpatient nursing, work well independently and as part of a team, embrace the core values of the health board, and be eager to learn and improve patient services.
Welsh Language Skills: Welsh speaking skills at Level 3 or above (or B1 level for adult learners) are desirable. This involves holding simple conversations with patients. For more information, see the 'Croeso Candidate!' booklet attached.
Required Skills and Responsibilities include phlebotomy, ECG recording, wound care, facilitating clinics independently, performing clinical procedures such as Doppler, supervising junior staff, and supporting student nurses. The successful candidate will also manage the outpatient area in the absence of the Department Manager.
All staff are required to undertake mandatory training and e-learning, participate actively in PADR, and are supported in achieving revalidation. The candidate should promote departmental learning and development.
Working Hours: The department operates Monday to Friday. Flexibility over the 5-day workweek is essential to meet service needs.
