Job Overview
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen to join the small patient focused team at the Outpatients Department , Royal Glamorgan Hospital and Dewi Sant Hospital - with the requirement to work in Ysbyty Cwm Rhondda if required.
Main Outpatients facilitates a wide range of Consultant, Nurse-led clinics and visiting Specialties.
The successful candidate must have an interest in Outpatient Nursing, work well independently and as part of a team, embrace the core values of the health board and a willingness to learn and improve services for patients.
Welsh Desirable (Level 3 or above in Speaking/Listening) This post is advertised as Welsh Desirable at Level 3 Speaking/Listening (or B1 Level if youve learnt Welsh as an adult). This doesnt mean you have to be fluent or be able to write long reports in Welsh; it just means being hold to simple conversations with patient. Main duties of the job
The skills of phlebotomy, ECG recording, and wound care are important and required for this role. The successful applicant will be required to facilitate clinics independently, carry out clinical procedures such as doppler, supervise junior staff and support Student Nurses on placement.
They would also be required to manage the Outpatient area in the absence of the Department Manager.
Staff are required to undertake Mandatory training and e-learning. Actively participate in PADR and are supported in achieving Revalidation.
The successful candidate is requested to actively participate and encourage Departmental learning and development.
Main Outpatients operates Monday to Friday, and it is important that the successful candidate is flexible over the 5-day period to meet the needs of the service.
