Job summary

St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking a registered nurse to support Outpatient Clinics, ensuring safe, efficient sessions and patient care.

You will assist clinicians, administer treatments, perform tests, and maintain comprehensive records while upholding NMC standards and patient privacy. This role involves teaching, supervision, and collaboration across departments.

Qualifications

• Maintain Professional Registration.
• Adhere to the NMC Code of Conduct and Scope of Professional Practice.
• Update professional development and maintain a personal record for future registration.

Responsibilities

• Take on the role of the registered nurse within the Outpatient Clinics and ensure smooth and safe running of clinic sessions.
• Assist the clinician with examination, investigation and treatment processes.
• Provide information, advice and health education both verbally and in writing to patients.
• Administer drugs and other treatments according to policy.
• Conduct tests and investigations according to Trust policies.
• Liaise with staff and departments about patients' conditions and needs.
• Complete documentation in line with Trust policy and NMC guidance.
• Act in the interest of patients and their families to provide a quality service.
• Expand and maintain skills to meet patient service delivery.
• Work at Whiston and St Helens Outpatient departments as required.
• Participate in teaching and assessing students and in-service training.
