Job description

The EPU Ward Clerk is responsible for delivering efficient administrative support within the Early Pregnancy Unit, ensuring patient records are accurate, appointments are coordinated, and communication between patients and the multidisciplinary team is effective. The role requires excellent organisational skills, attention to detail, and a sensitive, professional approach when dealing with patients experiencing pregnancy-related concerns. Register patients and update electronic patient records accurately Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries, directing calls appropriately. Maintain confidential patient information in accordance with NHS policies and data protection regulations. Prepare and organise patient notes, clinic lists, and relevant documentation. Liaise with consultants, nurses, midwives, sonographers, GPs, and other departments regarding patient care. Monitor and order office supplies and maintain stock of administrative materials. Process referrals, test results, and correspondence promptly. Ensure clinic and ward documentation is completed accurately and filed correctly. Support the clinical team with general administrative tasks as required. Maintain a clean, organised, and professional reception and administrative area.
