Job summary

Middlesbrough Council is seeking a Waste Operative 2 to join the team responsible for keeping streets and public spaces clean and welcoming. You will work outdoors, operate a range of handheld machinery, and contribute to frontline environmental maintenance with support from the team.

The role requires CPC Driver qualification and a full driving license (Class 2 HGV preferred). Training and safety procedures are an integral part of the role.

Qualifications

• CPC Driver qualification is essential.
• Full driving license – Class 2 HGV preferred.
• Experience operating handheld equipment such as pedestrian street sweepers, strimmers, hedge trimmers and air blowers.
• Willingness to undertake training on safety and manual handling.
• Knowledge of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Carry out environmental maintenance and cleansing duties to keep streets and public spaces clean and safe.
• Operate handheld machinery such as pedestrian street sweepers, strimmers, hedge trimmers and air blowers.
• Work as part of a frontline team and participate in training as required.
