Job summary

SRG (United Kingdom) is seeking a Site Chemist in Middlesbrough. The role involves significant outdoor work on site (about 75%), with remaining time in the laboratory, testing and processing waste streams.

You’ll handle hazardous and non-hazardous waste, ensure proper paperwork, and maintain compliance with safety and environmental standards. Requirements include a minimum HND in Chemistry, ability to work outdoors in all weather, and full right to work in the UK (no sponsorship).

Qualifications

• Minimum HND in Chemistry or equivalent with chemistry content.
• Willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
• UK right to work (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Receive chemical waste from industrial and commercial sites.
• Ensure waste paperwork is compliant and complete.
• Immediate testing of incoming waste for conformity.
• Conduct lab testing using tests such as flash point and pH.
• Assist with safe waste storage, labeling and documentation.
• Support site chemists and operatives to ensure efficient operations.
• Lead morning briefings and communicate activity to the team.
• Support site health and safety compliance.
