Job summary

Gi Group Holdings Recruitment Limited is hiring Meter Readers to collect gas, electricity and water meter data across residential and commercial properties. You will use a handheld device, update reads, and provide excellent customer service. Full training is provided and a company car may be offered.

Typical hours are 40–45 per week with flexible start/finish times, and weekly pay. 28 days holiday, pension, uniform, and expenses reimbursed are included, with bonus opportunities up to £2,000

Qualifications

• Must hold a Manual UK Driving Licence with 1 year minimum experience and up to 6 points, no DR offences.
• Be physically fit; able to bend in tight spaces, lift, kneel, climb stairs and walk 4–5 miles daily.
• Willing to work in all weather conditions.
• Clear DBS check (no unspent convictions).
• Credit report check clear (no CCJs, IVA, debt relief orders in last 6 years).
• 1) Employment history for 5 years. 2) Customer service experience preferred but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve data from domestic, commercial, and industrial meters (Gas, Power, Water) with training provided.
• Carry out visual inspections of metering equipment at sites.
• Conduct Charge Point Surveys as part of duties.
• Drive and manage workload in an independent role.
• Maintain a friendly, professional approach and outstanding customer service.
• Adhere to Health and Safety guidelines at all times.
