Job summary

Bridgnorth Town Council is seeking a Grounds Maintenance Apprentice to support horticultural and environmental services across council assets. No prior experience required; enthusiasm, reliability and willingness to learn are key.

You will work as part of a small team, handling tools and equipment, learning practical skills, and contributing to the upkeep of parks, riverbanks and public spaces in Bridgnorth.

Qualifications

• Good literacy and numeracy; willingness to work towards apprenticeship standard.
• Interest in horticulture, grounds maintenance and outdoor work.
• Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to learn new skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with horticultural and grounds maintenance duties across Town Council sites.
• Use and care for a range of tools and equipment including mowers, brush cutters and leaf blowers.
• Support the buildings and property maintenance team where appropriate.
