Job summary

Ground Control is seeking a reliable General Operative - River & Rural to join our team across the UK. You will support dredging, desilting, vegetation management and small civil works on rivers, lakes and rural sites, contributing to a practical, varied outdoor role with a close-knit team.

The role requires a CSCS card and a full UK driving licence, with flexibility to stay away when needed. PPE, accommodation where required, and opportunities to gain additional tickets and qualifications are

Qualifications

• Basic physical fitness for outdoor work.
• Willingness to stay away from home occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Support dredging, desilting and vegetation clearance works.
• Assist with bank repairs, fencing, access tracks and general civil works.
• Work on and near water, including from boats and pontoons.
• Load, unload and maintain tools, plant and equipment.
• Drive team members and equipment to and from sites.
• Follow RAMS and site safety procedures.
• Complete basic daily paperwork and digital checklists.
• Keep sites clean, tidy and safe.
