Job summary

Pertemps Bond, in partnership with Essex and Suffolk Water, is seeking a Water Sampling Technician to join their field-based team across Suffolk. The role involves collecting water samples from treatment works, reservoirs, and customer properties to ensure water quality standards are met.

Work is Monday–Friday, 06:00–14:00 with potential overtime; a full UK driving licence is essential. DBS check applies, and the position is a 6-month fixed-term contract.

Qualifications

• Previous water sampling or field-based experience is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence, no more than six points.
• Enjoy working outdoors and travelling independently.
• Excellent attention to detail with good record-keeping.

Responsibilities

• Carry out all sampling activities in line with procedures and quality manual.
• Follow a pre-determined sampling programme across Suffolk.
• Plan daily workload to ensure samples reach the laboratory within set timescales.
• Perform daily maintenance and calibration of sampling and testing equipment.
• Communicate professionally with customers and site contacts.
• Accurately complete all paperwork and documentation within agreed timeframes.
• Participate in standby, weekend, and rota duties where required.
