Job summary

Teaching Personnel in East Devon is seeking an Outdoor Education Learning Support Assistant to help students through outdoor education and practical activities. You will work alongside teaching staff to support learners in classroom and outdoor settings, helping them build confidence, resilience and practical skills while promoting positive engagement with learning.

Qualifications

Experience working with children or young people.
Interest in outdoor education, sport, practical activities or environment.
Confident outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
Patient, calm and supportive approach.
Ability to build positive relationships with young people.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable, adaptable and willing to get involved.
Interest in supporting learners who may find traditional classrooms challenging.

Responsibilities

Support students during outdoor learning and practical activities.
Help develop confidence, independence and resilience.
Provide one-to-one and small-group support where required.
Encourage engagement with learning and activities.
Support students with behavioural, social and emotional needs.
Help deliver outdoor learning, environmental projects, teamwork exercises and practical skills.
Build positive relationships with students and help overcome barriers to learning.
