Yorkshire Outdoors is seeking an Outdoor Activity Instructor to lead sessions at our 50-acre North Yorkshire site. You will guide guests through driving, shooting, biking, archery, and axe throwing experiences, ensuring safety and enjoyment for individuals, families, and corporate groups.

We value energetic, adaptable team players who can deliver unforgettable experiences in all weather. Training will support progression to professional qualifications; weekend work is required.

Qualifications

• Must hold full UK driving licence; off-road vehicle experience is a plus.
• First aid certification required or willingness to obtain.
• Strong communication and customer-facing skills essential.
• Ability to work weekends and outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-to-one or small group instruction across core activities (4x4 off-road driving, quad biking, axe throwing, archery, clay pigeon shooting).
• Brief clients, demonstrate techniques, maintain safety protocols, and adapt instruction to participant ability.
• Set up, inspect, and maintain equipment, vehicles, and activity areas daily.
• Assist with welcoming guests, coordinating bookings, and supporting refreshment service.

We are a dynamic and ambitious outdoor activity centre delivering premium experiences in 4×4 off‑road driving, quad biking, clay shooting, and archery and axe throwing. With continued growth we’re looking for an energetic, safety‑focused Instructor to join our close‑knit team. You’ll play a key role in delivering unforgettable experiences to individuals, families, and corporate guests, all set in our stunning 50‑acre site in the heart of North Yorkshire.

Role Overview

You will deliver a range of outdoor activity sessions one‑to‑one or in groups, guiding guests safely across driving, shooting, biking, archery and axe throwing experiences. You’ll be the face of Yorkshire Outdoors—ensuring every guest has a memorable, enjoyable, and safe experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one‑on‑one or small group instruction across our core activities:
  • 4×4 off‑road driving in Land Rover Defenders
  • Quad bike trekking
  • Axe Throwing
  • Archery
  • Clay Pigeon Shooting
• Brief clients, demonstrate techniques, maintain safety protocols, and adapt instruction to participant ability
• Set up, inspect, and maintain equipment, vehicles, and activity areas daily
• Assist with general operations: welcoming guests, coordinating bookings, supporting refreshment service from the clubhouse (rolls, pastries, BBQ orders)
• Ensure exceptional customer service, encouraging repeat bookings and positive reviews
• Uphold all health and safety standards, including equipment checks and incident reporting

Qualifications & Experience

• Full UK driving licence; experience with off‑road vehicles is a plus
• First aid certification (or willingness to obtain) is required
• Strong communication skills with flexibility and a confident, professional approach
• Training will be provided leading to professional qualifications
