Job summary

Linnaeus Veterinary Limited invites applications for an experienced Registered Veterinary Nurse to join the overnight team at Pets’n’Vets Roundhouse Veterinary Hospital in Glasgow. The role involves night duties from 6:30 PM to 7:30 AM on a 7 nights on, 14 nights off cycle, delivering high‑quality nursing care to in‑patients and surgical cases.

You will work closely with the night team to develop care plans, provide overnight nursing, and hand over to the day team in the morning.

Responsibilities

• As part of the nursing team, you will liaise with the Lead OOH RVN and OOH PCAs to provide high‑quality nursing care for medical and surgical cases.
• In the evenings you will create overnight nursing plans in coordination with the ward RVN and vet; mornings involve a thorough handover to the day team.
• You will be encouraged to contribute your opinions on cases, with a clear understanding of each patient’s history and reason for hospitalisation.

Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will be a key member of the nursing team, working effectively with the Lead OOH RVN and OOH PCAs to provide the highest standard of nursing care to a range of medical and surgical cases. In the evenings you will liaise with our ward RVN and vet to create overnight nursing plans, and in the mornings you will provide a comprehensive handover to the day team. We encourage all of our RVNs to express their opinions on cases and expect them to understand each patient’s history and reason for hospitalisation – your opinion is valued. The role is 7 nights on, 14 nights off which offers a great work life balance while still offering a salary that reflects the value we place in our nursing team.
