Job summary

Boehringer Ingelheim in the UK is seeking an Automation & Cyber Security Manager for a fixed-term contract through 2027. You will secure and improve industrial automated control systems, support production systems, and enable secure OT/IT integration.

The role requires a strong background in IT/OT cyber security, GxP/regulatory standards, and lifecycle management, with collaboration across multiple stakeholders in a matrix organisation. DBS check is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of IT and/or OT cyber security frameworks (ISO 2700x, IEC 62443).
• Experience with industrial automation and OT architecture integration with IT systems.
• Familiarity with GxP, GMP, GAMP5, IEC 61508/61511 standards.
• Understanding of cyber security risk assessments, controls, and documentation.
• Experience in system lifecycle management including validation and change control.
• Knowledge of data protection principles.
• Ability to collaborate across stakeholders in a matrix organisation.
• Degree in engineering, computer science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Certifications such as CISM, CISA, CISSP; GICSP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure OT cyber security compliance with regulations and standards, manage cyber security management system, risk assessments, controls, and training.
• Conduct security risk assessments, network documentation, asset registers, and implement countermeasures.
• Manage OT systems lifecycle, implement cyber security measures, change control, documentation updates.
• Plan and execute automation and IT-related projects aligned with production needs.
• Lead validation and continuous improvement initiatives for automation and OT systems.
• Ensure system reliability and performance, including obsolescence management and safety standards.
• Develop procedures for IT and IACS integration in GxP and non-GxP environments.
• Support OT architecture, standards, governance, and stakeholder collaboration.
• Drive communication and change management within engineering teams for cyber security and automation initiatives.
• Support BI tools deployment and data aggregation/reporting processes.
