Job summary

SSE plc is seeking an OT Infrastructure Engineer to help operate, support and improve OT infrastructure across SSEN Transmission. The role focuses on reliability, security and recoverability of critical infrastructure across multiple sites, with 50% time in Perth, Aberdeen, Glasgow or Inverness.

You do not need prior OT experience; the team values practical problem-solving, collaboration and delivering secure changes across environments. A strong background in live infrastructure is expected.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting infrastructure in live environments requiring high availability and security.
• Ability to monitor platform health, investigate incidents and support capacity management.
• Experience delivering controlled infrastructure changes, upgrades and deployments.

Responsibilities

• Support the OT Infrastructure Manager with operation, support and continuous improvement of infrastructure services across OT.
• Maintain health, performance and resilience of infrastructure platforms; identify, investigate and resolve issues in a controlled manner.
• Support infrastructure services from central servers to substation deployments and third-party hosted platforms.
• Collaborate with operations, projects, suppliers and stakeholders to implement stable, secure changes and improvements.
• Maintain backup, recovery, patching and vulnerability management processes to keep services secure.
