Job summary

United Utilities is seeking an OT Field Technician (Electrical) to join our Operational Technology team at Lostock Water Treatment Works. This role suits an electrically qualified professional who enjoys fault finding and working with cutting-edge industrial technology.

You will maintain and support OT assets across our water treatment operations, ensuring reliable monitoring, control and protection of essential services.

Qualifications

• Electrical or Instrumentation apprenticeship completed.
• Experience with industrial control and automation systems.
• Knowledge of SCADA, PLCs, control and automation technologies, and remote telemetry systems.
• Understanding of Microsoft and Linux operating systems.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade 5-9/A-C) including Maths.

Responsibilities

• Maintaining and supporting plant monitoring, control and automation systems.
• Diagnosing faults and identifying solutions to recurring maintenance issues.
• Supporting SCADA, PLC, telemetry, communications and electronic security systems.
• Working closely with operational teams and work management teams to deliver high-quality service.
• Managing workload and priorities in line with business needs.
• Providing progress updates and collaborating with colleagues to ensure successful delivery of work.
• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and Information Security requirements.
• Maintaining a strong customer-focused approach with stakeholders.
• Supporting the efficient operation of critical OT infrastructure.
