Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an OT Cybersecurity Consultant to support Critical National Infrastructure clients, spanning Energy, Water, Rail, and Defence. You will work at the intersection of engineering, OT and cybersecurity to protect industrial systems and secure operations across complex OT estates.

You will assess, design and implement cybersecurity controls, contribute to secure architectures and help communicate risk-based security in a clear business context. Hybrid work options available.

Qualifications

• Experience in OT cybersecurity, ideally within Critical National Infrastructure or industrial environments.
• Knowledge of OT/ICS technologies such as SCADA, DCS, PLCs and RTUs.
• Hands-on security engineering across IT and OT networks (endpoints, firewalls, IDS).
• Familiarity with IEC 62443, NIST CSF, ISO 27000 series, MITRE ATT&CK and NIS/NIS2.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and ability to communicate risk-informed security clearly.
• Understanding of safety, reliability, resilience and secure system lifecycle management.
• Awareness of cloud and edge integration in OT environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the assessment, design and implementation of cybersecurity controls within OT and IC environments.
• Collaborate with engineers and operations to understand architectures, requirements and risks.
• Review OT networks and ICS to identify opportunities to improve security and resilience.
• Contribute to secure OT architectures, including network segmentation, remote access and monitoring.
• Support cybersecurity assessments, technical reviews and security improvement initiatives.
• Produce technical documentation, recommendations and client deliverables.
• Assist with integrating security controls across IT/OT networks.
• Work with stakeholders to improve operational resilience and cyber maturity.
• Contribute to incident readiness, threat detection and monitoring as needed.
• Keep up to date with developments in OT cybersecurity and emerging threats.
• Communicate progress, risks and recommendations effectively with clients and project teams.
