Job summary

Barking Havering and Redbridge University Hospitals NHS Trust is inviting a Band 5 Orthoptist to join the ophthalmology service in Romford. You will provide high quality orthoptic assessments, diagnoses and treatments for paediatric and adult patients within a multidisciplinary team.

The role involves participation in perimetry, OCT and tomography as part of a busy service, with teaching responsibilities and opportunities to develop caseload in a teaching centre.

Qualifications

• enthusiastic and motivated orthoptist with excellent communication and organisational skills.
• ability to work alone as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide high quality orthoptic assessment, diagnosis and treatment for referrals.
• Participate in perimetry (automated and manual) and imaging (OCT, tomography).
• Manage and develop orthoptic service within a multidisciplinary team.
• Contribute to teaching and supervision within a teaching centre.
