Job summary

Belfast Health and Social Care Trust is seeking an Orthoptist to work within the Ophthalmology Department across RVH, Mater and Health & Wellbeing Centres. You will manage a caseload, deliver core orthoptic services and liaise with the Ophthalmology Service Manager.

The role requires a BSc(Hons) in Orthoptics with HCPC registration or eligibility and a valid UK driving licence. You will participate in audits, CPD and service improvements as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• BSc(Hons) in Orthoptics or Diploma in Body (DBO) eligible for HCPC registration.
• HCPC registration or ability to register in a reasonable time.
• Full UK driving licence and access to a car on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver a comprehensive range of core Orthoptic services to high standards.
• Investigate, diagnose and formulate treatment plans for patients.
• Undertake secondary vision screening and community services.
• Maintain accurate records of investigations, treatments and outcomes.
• Attend training to stay updated with techniques and equipment.
