Job summary

NHS Borders is seeking an enthusiastic Orthopaedic Practitioner to join our Trauma & Orthopaedic Service in Melrose. The role is Band 4 or Annex 21 Trainee, 36 hours per week, 08:30–17:00, Monday to Friday. You will work across fracture clinics, orthopaedic outpatient clinics, the Emergency Department and inpatient trauma wards.

Applicants should hold the BOA Plaster Certificate (or be a trainee). Trainees will receive structured training to develop casting skills and professional competencies

Qualifications

• BOA Plaster Certificate (qualified applicants).
• Recent experience within an orthopaedic, trauma, or acute healthcare setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Commitment to delivering high-quality patient-centred care.
• Willingness to undertake further training and professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide care within fracture clinics, orthopaedic outpatient clinics, the Emergency Department, and inpatient trauma patients during clinic hours.
