The role requires NHS experience, a British National Casting Course (Stanmore) and the ability to work independently within a multidisciplinary team. This ongoing locum contract offers flexible hours and site variety.

Qualifications

• British National Casting Course qualification (Stanmore).
• Band 5 Orthopaedic Practitioner experience required.
• Plaster Technician experience in fracture clinics expected.
• NHS experience navigating its environment is essential.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work across multiple sites with ease and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Apply, remove and maintain casts and splints ensuring patient safety and treatment effectiveness.
• Provide specialist orthopaedic casting services with precision and care.
• Assess and evaluate patients requiring plaster and casting interventions.
• Support fracture clinic services central to the community.
• Educate patients on cast care and post‑treatment management.
• Monitor fit, comfort and effectiveness of casts; maintain standards.
• Collaborate with Orthopaedic Consultants and multidisciplinary teams for integrated care.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and NHS-standard documentation.
• Ensure safe and effective orthopaedic practice; contribute to service delivery.
• Support seamless service delivery across two clinical sites.
