Job summary

Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Practitioner to support the Orthopaedic Perioperative Team. The role focuses on maintaining smooth patient flow, compiling inpatient lists, and preparing discharge letters, while delivering clinical tasks such as venepuncture, cannulation and wound care under medical supervision.

Based on Dyball Ward, the post is a 31.5-hour fixed-term contract (Band 4), with shifts largely in the early mornings and occasional

Qualifications

• Support medical colleagues using clinical and administrative skills.
• Compile inpatient list, prepare discharge summaries and letters.
• Provide clinical tasks including venepuncture, cannulation and wound care as directed by the Medical team.
• Role based on the Peri-op team on Dyball ward.
• Fixed term contract from 01/01/2027 to 31/12/2027.
