Job summary

The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Registered Nursing Associate to join the Admissions and Day Care Unit in Birmingham. This Band 4, NHS AfC post is a permanent full-time position (37.5 hours per week) within a 20-bedded ADCU that supports both day cases and inpatient admissions.

The role focuses on safe perioperative care, pain management, and co-ordinating multidisciplinary pathways, contributing to high-quality patient care and experience.

Qualifications

• NMC PIN Registration as Nurse Associate.
• Experience in a hospital environment.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Knowledge of vital signs monitoring (NEWS2) and patient assessment.

Responsibilities

• Safe care of pre and post operative patients recovering from orthopaedic procedures.
• Pain management and medicines administrations per policy.
• Effective communication with patients and staff.
• Co-ordinating care with ward-based therapy teams and investigations.
• Working as part of a multidisciplinary team to achieve best outcomes.
