Qualifications

  • CIPD Level 3 qualification or equivalent knowledge and experience of a range of administrative and HR/People procedures
  • Diploma level in learning administration, training coordination, digital learning systems, or project support

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive Organisation and People Development Coordinator to join our OD and Learning team at Gateshead Health NHS Foundation Trust.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting the delivery of learning, leadership and people development activities across the Trust. As well as coordinating a wide range of learning and development programmes and systems, you will help drive continuous improvement by reviewing processes, identifying efficiencies and supporting the introduction of innovative digital and automated solutions.

Working closely with colleagues across the organisation, you will lead a small administrative team, use data and insights to support decision making, and contribute to projects that improve the experience of learners, managers and staff. We are looking for someone who is curious, forward-thinking and confident in challenging existing ways of working to help us create effective, modern and customer-focused services.

Main duties of the job

Job responsibilities

The post holder will provide high-quality administrative coordination to support the smooth and efficient delivery of Organisation Development and Learning activities across the Trust. Working as a senior point of contact within the administrative team, the role ensures that learners, colleagues and partners receive an effective and responsive service.The role is responsible for maintaining and coordinating a range of key learning and development processes and trackers, including areas such as apprenticeships, widening participation, induction, the Trust Prospectus, CPD, Learning Needs Analysis, coaching, study leave and ESR updates.The post holder will support the organisation of these activities to ensure accurate, timely information and effective day-to-day operations.The post holder will contribute to continuous improvement by reviewing administrative procedures, identifying opportunities for streamlining and supporting the introduction of digital and automated approaches where appropriate.The role includes line management responsibility for the Assistant Team, supporting their daily work, promoting good communication and ensuring consistent, high-standard administrative practice across the team.

Person Specification
Knowledge
  • CIPD Level 3 qualified or equivalent knowledge and experience of a range of administrative and HR/People procedures
  • Additional training /experience to diploma level (e.g., in learning administration, training coordination, digital learning systems, education technology, or project support)
Skills
  • Highly competent with Microsoft/Computer products, in particular Word, Excel, MS Teams, Sharepoint intranet etc.
  • Excellent organisational and prioritising skills, including the ability to manage a high workload and work under pressure
  • Ability to provide and analyse information
  • Ability to work independently and confidently on own initiative
  • Awareness of confidentiality when dealing with staff information
  • Knowledge of automating processes/workflows using systems such as PowerAutomate
Experience
  • Experience of working in a HR or People Department
  • Previous experience of delivering a high quality, customer focussed service
  • Previous experience of using electronic HR/L&D/People systems to record and report information
  • Previous line management/supervisory experience
  • Previous experience of working in the NHS
