Job summary

4Xtrahands Limited is seeking an experienced Herd Manager for a 240-cow organic spring-calving block in south Herefordshire. The role centers on milk from grass, with a modern milking parlour and spacious housing arrangements.

You will join a long-standing team and help drive the herd to the next level while enjoying regular time off and supportive supervision. The position offers morning milking duties, involvement in grazing discussions, and a rota with alternate weekends off.

Qualifications

• Experience in grass-based dairy production.
• Ability to work in a team and independently.
• Keen to contribute to farm success and pasture management.
• Record keeping and grazing planning are important.

Responsibilities

• Predominantly morning milkings only, with holiday cover.
• Involvement in grazing discussion group.
• Maintain attractive work patterns and good holiday provision.
• Operate with a works vehicle and standard farm machinery as required.
• Alternate weekends off with an 11 on 3 off rota.
• Participate in staff training where required.
