Job summary

18 Week Support Limited is seeking a Healthcare Assistant (HCA) for Oral Outpatients / Oral Surgery in the West Midlands and North. You will work with Consultants, Doctors and Nurses to provide safe, compassionate patient care.

Experience in Oral Surgery or Oral Theatre and strong infection prevention knowledge are essential. Responsibilities include assisting procedures, preparing rooms and equipment, patient preparation and ensuring high standards of confidentiality and teamwork in a busy NHS

Qualifications

• Previous NHS or healthcare HCA experience required.
• Experience in Oral Surgery, Oral Outpatients or Oral Theatre essential.
• Good infection prevention and control knowledge.
• Able to work with Consultants, Doctors and Nurses in a team.

Responsibilities

• Assist clinicians and nursing staff during oral outpatient and oral surgical procedures.
• Prepare treatment and procedure rooms before and between patients.
• Handle clinical equipment and surgical instruments safely.
• Support clinicians during minor oral surgical and dental procedures.
• Prepare patients, position them and provide reassurance.
• Monitor patients and report changes to clinical staff.
• Maintain high infection control standards.
• Clean, decontaminate and prepare clinical areas per Trust policies.
• Assist with safe patient transfers when needed.
• Ensure equipment and rooms are stocked and ready.
• Dispose of clinical waste and sharps per local procedures.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and NHS policy compliance.
• Complete documentation accurately and promptly.
• Collaborate effectively within the multidisciplinary team.
