Job description

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Oral Health Improvement Manager to join our Oral Health Improvement Team and help us improve oral health and reduce inequalities across communities in West Northamptonshire.

This is a varied and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to plan, coordinate and deliver evidence-based oral health improvement programmes, working closely with early years and education settings, health and care professionals, local authority colleagues and community partners.

From supervised toothbrushing and workforce training to developing resources, evaluating programmes and building strong local partnerships, you'll be helping to turn evidence into practical action that can make a real difference to children, families and communities.

We're looking for someone with a passion for prevention and health improvement, excellent communication and organisational skills and the confidence to work both independently and collaboratively with a wide range of partners.

Should we receive a high number of applications we reserve the right to close this vacancy at any point after 23rd October 2026

The post holder will plan, coordinate and deliver a range of evidence-based oral health improvement programmes across West Northamptonshire, supporting the service to improve oral health outcomes and reduce oral health inequalities.

A key part of the role will be supporting the delivery and development of supervised toothbrushing programmes, alongside a significant programme of oral health training and workforce development. This will include working with early years and education settings, health and care professionals, adult social care providers and other community partners.

The post holder will work closely with West Northamptonshire Council and a wide range of partner organisations to support the development and delivery of oral health improvement initiatives that respond to local population need.

The role will also involve monitoring programme activity and performance, evaluating outcomes, contributing to commissioner reports and using learning and evidence to support continuous improvement.

The post holder will work with a high degree of autonomy while remaining an active member of the wider Oral Health Improvement Team.
