Job summary

Pearson is seeking a Software Engineer III to design, build and support Oracle APEX applications and data pipelines across Rotherham, Manchester or London. You will ensure data quality and work with SMEs, product owners and QA to deliver robust database solutions.

Strong SQL/PL/SQL, Oracle APEX, and data integration experience are essential, along with CI/CD practices and collaborative, cross-functional teamwork in a hybrid setup.

Qualifications

• The candidate should have a solid Oracle development background with APEX experience.
• Experience building and supporting Oracle APEX apps in a commercial setting.
• Knowledge of data transformation, integration projects and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain Oracle APEX applications from data model to UI.
• Write and optimise SQL/PL/SQL including packages, procedures, functions and triggers.
• Build, schedule and monitor ETL/ELT data pipelines between Oracle and other systems.
• Implement data validation, reconciliation checks and error handling.
• Tune performance using execution plans, indexing and partitioning.
• Contribute to code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD and documentation.
• Support live services by investigating incidents and data defects.
