Job summary

Meta is seeking an Optical Deployment Engineer to deploy and support a large-scale optical network spanning ULH terrestrial, regional metros and subsea links connecting data centers and POP sites across EMEA. You will generate implementation plans, provide technical guidance, and collaborate with vendors to set deployment standards.

The role requires hands-on experience with optical networks, field-based work at POPs and data centers, and the ability to lead deployment and migration projects

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience deploying optical networks.
• Experience with optical network design, installation and maintenance for service providers or enterprise networks.
• Field-based work on POPs, data centers and central offices.
• Leadership and execution of optical deployment and migration projects.
• Experience coordinating with vendors to drive projects to completion.
• Ability to create rack elevations and as-built documentation.
• Understanding of DCN networks and optical theory.

Responsibilities

• Deploy, configure, and support a large-scale production optical network across multiple regions.
• Generate implementation plans and provide technical leadership during deployments.
• Collaborate with vendors to evaluate hardware/software and create optical deployment standards.
• Review vendor/subcontractor acceptance documents and schedule maintenance tasks.
• Work with data centers, carriers, and fiber providers to introduce new technologies.
• Provide technical troubleshooting support for provisioning engineers.
• Create design packages for metro/regional/long-haul systems and subsea SLTE.
• Contribute to documentation, automation, and process evolution.
