Job summary

Cubitts in London is seeking a customer-focused Optical Associate to welcome customers, guide frame and lens choices, and bring our brand and values to life. You will blend technical skills with warmth to create memorable experiences while supporting smooth store operations.

You will dispense lenses, perform adjustments, and introduce Made to Measure, with no prior optical experience required but a passion for spectacles and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Customer-facing experience preferred; optical experience not essential.
• Passion for spectacles and alignment with brand values.
• Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude and initiative.
• Excellent communicator, confident in written and verbal skills.
• Highly organised with a keen eye for detail and aesthetics.
• Previous customer-facing experience; optical experience is a bonus.

• Deliver exceptional service at every stage of the customer journey under our CX standards.
• Communicate Cubitts brand story, mission and values to enrich the customer experience.
• Assist with frame and lens selection with tailored advice.
• Accurately dispense prescription and non-prescription lenses with clear lens options.
• Perform frame adjustments and basic repairs for a perfect fit.
• Introduce customers to Made to Measure service and its craft.
• Maintain a clean, organised store with well-presented displays and stock.
• Follow GDPR and patient confidentiality guidelines at all times.
• Collaborate with your team and other departments to foster a supportive environment.

The Role

To help us deliver on that ambition, we’re looking for an enthusiastic, customer-focused Optical Associate. You’ll be at the heart of the customer experience - welcoming people into the store, guiding them through frame and lens choices, and bringing our brand, craft, and values to life. With a blend of technical expertise and warmth, you’ll help create memorable experiences for every customer while supporting the smooth, collaborative running of the store.

Your key responsibilities

• Deliver exceptional service at every stage of the customer journey that is underpinned by our customer experience non-negotiables.
• Communicate the Cubitts brand story, mission and values to enrich the customer experience.
• Assist with frame and lens selection, offering expert product advice tailored to individual needs.
• Accurately dispense prescription and non-prescription lenses, explaining lens options clearly and confidently.
• Perform frame adjustments and basic repairs to ensure the perfect fit.
• Introduce every customer to our Made to Measure service, bringing its craft and purpose to life.
• Maintain a clean, organised store environment, ensuring displays and stock are well-presented.
• Follow GDPR and patient confidentiality guidelines at all times, maintaining trust and professionalism.
• Collaborate closely with your team and other departments, fostering a supportive and team-oriented environment.
