Job summary

Specsavers Kingswinford is offering an Optical Assistant Apprentice role designed for people starting a career in optics. You’ll join a friendly team, learn on the job, and earn a full-time wage while you train over 15–18 months.

The apprenticeship runs 37.5 hours per week, including one weekend day, with training alongside experienced colleagues. You will welcome customers, book eye tests, pre-screen patients, give style advice, measure frames, and handle calls.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths (A*-C) or equivalentrequired.
• Excellent communication and listening skills.
• Ability to work well in a team and provide great customer service.
• Eligible to work in the UK and EU residency as stated.

Located in the heart of the local high street, the store benefits from excellent accessibility, with convenient public transport links including regular bus services connecting Kingswinford to Dudley, Stourbridge, and surrounding areas, making it easy to travel to and from the store.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully‑fledged Optical Assistant.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice.

• You’ll need a grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result)
• Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
