Job summary

Specsavers in Bognor Regis invites you to join their Apprenticeship scheme as an Optical Assistant. You will train alongside experienced optical professionals over 15–18 months, earning a full-time wage and gaining practical skills in eye care, tests, and customer service.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths grade 9-4 (A*-C) or equivalent.
• EU residence with right to work in the UK for at least 3 years.
• No prior Optical Sector experience required.

Our store

Located in the heart of Bognor Regis, our Specsavers store is a busy, well-established practice committed to delivering outstanding eye care and customer service. The store offers a comprehensive range of services including adult and children’s eye examinations, OCT 3D eye scanning, eye health services, contact lens services and home eye tests.

The team works in a modern, well-equipped environment, with four test rooms, up-to-date clinical equipment and a dedicated contact lens optician. With an experienced team of optical professionals, the store provides an excellent environment for colleagues to develop their skills while making a real difference to customers and the local community.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice.

• You’ll need a grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result)
• Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
