Job summary

Specsavers Chatham is offering an Optical Assistant Apprenticeship to kickstart your career in an optics environment. You will train alongside the team, learn to book eye tests, assist patients and provide style advice while earning a full-time wage.

On completion after 15-18 months you’ll become a fully-fledged Optical Assistant. GCSE Maths at grade 9-4 (A*-C) is required, and applicants must have the right to work in the UK. You’ll work 37.5 hours across 5 days, including weekends.

Our store

Specsavers Chatham is a customer-focused opticians providing professional eye-care and hearing services to the local community. The store offers comprehensive eye examinations, sight tests, contact lens consultations and fittings, as well as dispensing and fitting glasses and sunglasses. Hearing services include hearing tests and support with hearing-care solutions. The team focuses on delivering high-quality clinical care alongside friendly, personalised customer service, helping customers find the right products and solutions for their individual needs.

Your on-the-job training will sit alongside structured learning and at the end of the 15-18 months as an apprentice, you’ll be a fully-fledged Optical Assistant.

Who is this Apprenticeship for?

If this is still sounding like a bit of you, we do need you to have a few skills to get started as an Optical Assistant Apprentice.

• You’ll need a grade 9-4 (A*-C) GCSEs in Maths (or equivalent/predicted result)
• Individuals who have lived in the EU for 3 years or more, with the right to work in the UK
